How quickly the seasons pass—carrying us from the gentle awakening of spring into the bright, bountiful energy of mid-summer. It’s a time of full renewal, when growth is everywhere, the days stretch long, and hope feels tangible in the warm air. As mid-summer brings vibrant blossoms, sunny afternoons, and steady inspiration, I find myself reflecting with gratitude on the blessings of the past year and looking forward with excitement to all that 2026 holds.

This mid-summer season feels especially meaningful as I celebrate my 33rd year as a State Farm Agent. I began this journey in 1994 in Escanaba, MI, and then moved to Petoskey in 1995—where I was fortunate to meet my wonderful wife, Phyllis. Since then, our family has grown and flourished through every turning season.

Phyllis, a dedicated real estate agent originally from Indian River, has shown me the breathtaking beauty of our region—from Burt Lake to the Crooked River—now glowing with fresh color and renewed life in the heart of mid-summer. Together, we cherish our five children and ten grandchildren, whose laughter and love fill our home with warmth and joy as we embrace the longer days and outdoor living that mid-summer brings.

During this time of year, we hold dear our cherished traditions—family gatherings, shared meals, and time together—and we embrace the return of outdoor activities. With winter’s chill behind us, we look forward to playing pickleball at Petoskey High School and to the simple joy of taking serene boat rides along the inland waterway.
