How quickly summer moves on—carrying us from the bright, easy days of early summer to the busy anticipation of back-to-school. As the season winds down, there’s a special kind of energy in the air: new school supplies, crisp mornings, and hopeful plans for what’s ahead. With late August and early September approaching, I’m grateful for everything this year has brought—and excited for the opportunities that 2026 holds.

This late-summer season is especially meaningful to me as I celebrate my 34th year as a State Farm Agent. Beginning this journey in 1994 in Escanaba, MI, and then moving to Petoskey in 1995—where I was fortunate to meet my wonderful wife, Phyllis—our family has grown and changed along with the seasons ever since.

Phyllis, a dedicated real estate agent originally from Indian River, has always helped me see the beauty of our region—Burt Lake to Crooked River—glowing in that last stretch of summer sunshine.
