How quickly the seasons turn, carrying us from the gentle awakening of April into the full bloom of early May—a time bursting with renewal, growth, and hopeful anticipation for the months ahead. As April’s soft breezes give way to May’s warmer days, and vibrant blossoms unfurl, I find myself reflecting with gratitude on the blessings of the past year and looking forward with excitement to all that 2026 holds.

This season is especially meaningful as I celebrate my 33rd year as a State Farm Agent. Since beginning this journey in 1994 in Escanaba, MI, and moving to Petoskey in 1995—where I was fortunate to meet my wonderful wife, Phyllis—our family has grown and flourished alongside the changing seasons.

Phyllis, a dedicated real estate agent originally from Indian River, has shown me the breathtaking beauty of our region—from Burt Lake to Crooked River—now glowing with the fresh colors and renewed life that spring brings after a long winter. Together, we cherish our five children and ten grandchildren, whose laughter and love fill our home with warmth and joy as we welcome the brighter, longer days of May.

As April fades into May, we hold dear our cherished traditions— family gatherings, shared meals—and embrace the return of outdoor activities. With winter’s chill behind us, we eagerly look forward to playing pickleball at Petoskey High School and soon taking serene boat rides along the inland waterway.
